108学年度第1学期    PBL成果展现：英语简报比赛

• 日期/Date: Wed., Nov. 27^th, 2019
• 时间/Time: 13:00~16:30
• 地点/Venue: A115(国际组 International group)，A116(校内组 Campus group)

• 简报主题/Topics: Fake News: Challenge of Identification and Prevention

• Your presentation could be organized from several perspectives, for example,

1. Have you or your friends/relatives seen fake news? Does it bring out any impact?
2. How do you know the information is not true?
3. How can you spot fake news?
4. What do you think people can do to deal with fake news challenge?

• 初赛报名期限/Deadline: 即日起至11/15(五)缴交12-15页PPT到语发中心

Please submit 12-15 PowerPoint slides to CDLTR by Fri. ,Nov. 15^{th .}

 初赛以缴交之PPT评选，由语发中心老师审件，通过组别进入决赛。
 The judges will do a first round evaluation by examining the PowerPoint slides. Students with better performance will be selected for the final round.

• 奖励办法/Prizes: 分两组评选 Each Group will have 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd prize and 2 Outstanding Awards.

第一名:每组5,000元奖金，各参赛者奖状乙只。

First prize: NT$ 5,000 & certificates.

第二名:每组3,000元奖金，各参赛者奖状乙只。

Second prize: NT$ 3,000 & certificates.

第三名:每组1,000元奖金，各参赛者奖状乙只。

Third prize: NT$ 1,000 & certificates.

佳作(二名):每组500元奖金，各参赛者奖状乙只。

Outstanding Award: NT$500 & certificates

• 报名办法 Registration:

1. 比赛分为国际组(含外文系、境外生、通识英文AU1,AU2学生及大二EGSP课程高级班学生，建议多益600分以上报名)与校内组(通识英文AU3, AU4, AU5及大二EGSP课程中级班学生)

The contest contains 1. International group (DFLL students, international students, General English AU1&AU2 students and Sophomore EGSP advanced level students are included) and 2. Campus group (General English AU3,AU4 and AU5 students and Sophomore EGSP intermediate level students are included). Students who have a TOEIC score over 600 should join international group.

2. 11/15(五)下午5点之前完成线上报名及上传PPT简报档(https://forms.gle/Vto5FNpba9QKSG596)。

Participants have to submit the PowerPoint slides file and fill in the online registration at https://forms.gle/Vto5FNpba9QKSG596 by Fri. , Nov. 15^th , 5pm.

3. 初赛通过者将于11/22(五)公告于语发中心网站以及国际语文走廊门口。

Entry list for the final round will be announced on the website & office on Fri., Nov. 22^nd.

4. 决赛日期为11/27(三)，将分组上台进行口头简报，须抽换简报PPT的组别，请于11/27(三)12:00以前抽换。

Final round is on Wed., Nov. 27^th. Each group should do an oral presentation on stage. If participants want to update the PowerPoint slides, please submit the new PowerPoint slides to CDLTR before Wed., Nov.27^th, 12:00 pm.

5. 本比赛为EFL学生比赛，如队员中包含母语为英文之参赛者，则不符合参赛资格，无法参加比赛。

Since this is an EFL contest and the focus is to motivate students who live in countries where English is a foreign language, participants who are from a country where one of the official languages is English (or the participant has a passport from a country where English is an official language), that student cannot participate in the contest.

• 比赛方式/ Scope:

1. 决审参赛队伍于安排时间进行现场英文简报，每组简报时间以6-8分钟为限。时间超过或未达要求，将扣分。进行简报时，大会将于第五分半钟时响一次铃，第七分钟时响两次铃，第八分钟时响三次铃提醒。铃响三次表示时间已到，主持人将要求队伍停止报告并下台。

Each team will give a presentation at the scheduled time and each presentation should last 6 to 8 minutes. Points will be deducted if the presentation does not reach/end within the time limit. The bell will ring once when the presentation reaches the 5 and a half minute mark, twice at the 7^th minute mark, and three times at the 8^th minute. After the 8^th minute mark, the host will end the presentation and ask presenters to leave the stage.

2. 本竞赛为团体竞赛，每队限3-7人参加(不接受个人参赛)，队员不须全部上台简报。

This is a team contest. Students must form a team of 3 to 7 members. Not all team members are required to present on stage.

3. 以PowerPoint投影片辅助进行简报。投影片必须由参赛者自行制作，并确认简报中引用的图片及文章来源，避免版权争议。建议参赛者自备提示小卡，不建议直接宣读PowerPoint档内容。

It is required to use the PowerPoint to facilitate the presentation. Slides must be created by participants, ideally their original work; please list the references for photos and information shown in slides to avoid copyright infringement.  We encourage participants to glance at notes occasionally instead of reading content in slides.

初赛first round：简报内容 50%  英文使用正确度  30%   设计与创意  20%

PTT’s Content  50%   Language Accuracy  30%    Design & Creativity  20%

决赛 final round：简报内容 30%      英语发音与流畅度   40%       上台表现   30%

PTT’s Content  30%   English Pronunciation and Fluency  40%    Performance  30%
