简报主题｜Topics：Gen AI and the Future of Education
The application of GenAI, such as ChatGPT, has captured the world’s attention. There is growing discussion on how education can be reformed to stimulate learners to enhance and stretch their imagination using AI tools that equip them with improved skills for self-expression. Additionally, debates continue how AI can enhance, rather than hinder, creativity and critical thinking. Is AI a devil or a guardian angel for learners?
Your presentation can be structured from various perspectives, for instance:
- User experience with a generative AI application in learning
- Usefulness and extent of utility
- Challenges and areas for improvement
- Necessity in instruction
- Incorporation in curricula
- Future learning or applications

Go to the registration link and fill in register information. Submit 10-12 PPT slides to the link by Fri., Nov. 15th. -
初赛以缴交之简报评选，通过组别进入决赛。
The judges will do a first round evaluation by examining the PowerPoint slides. Students with better performance will be selected for the final round.

奖励办法｜Prizes
分国际组及国内组两组评选，下列奖项每组各取前三名及佳作二名：
The contest contains two groups – International Group & Local Group. Each group will have 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize and 2 Outstanding Awards.
第一名：每组 5,000 元奖金，各参赛者奖状乙纸。First prize: NT$ 5,000 & certificates.
第二名：每组 3,000 元奖金，各参赛者奖状乙纸。Second prize: NT$ 3,000 & certificates.
第三名：每组 1,000 元奖金，各参赛者奖状乙纸。Third prize: NT$ 1,000 & certificates.
佳作(二名)：每组 500 元奖金，各参赛者奖状乙纸。Outstanding Award: NT$500 & certificates
报名办法｜Registration

比赛分为国际组 (含修习通识英文课程境外生、通识英文AU1, AU2学生及大二EGSP课程高级班学生及持多益600分以上证照学生)与国内组 (通识英文AU3, AU4, AU5及大二EGSP课程中级班学生)，请依照各组成员中英语文程度最高者填写，若填写不实将依弃权办理。
The contest contains 1. International Group (foreign students who take General English courses, Freshman AU1 and AU2, Sophomore EGSP-Advanced level students) and 2. Local Group (General English AU3, AU4 and AU5 and Sophomore EGSP intermediate level students). Students who have a TOEIC score over 600 should join the international group. -
欲报名参加请透过网站报名，并于11/15(五)下午5点前缴交比赛的PPT简报档。
Please sign up via the sign-up link. Participants have to submit PowerPoint slides file by Nov. 15th, 5pm. -
初赛通过者将于11/29(五)公告于语发中心网站。
Entry list for the final round will be announced on the website on Fri., Nov. 29th. -
决赛日期为12/4(三)，将分组上台进行口头简报，须抽换简报PPT的组别，请于12/3(二) 12:00以前抽换。
Final round is on Dec. 4th. Each group should do an oral presentation on stage. If participants want to update their PowerPoint slides, please submit the new PowerPoint slides to CDLTR before Tue., Dec. 3rd, 12:00 pm. -
本比赛为EFL学生比赛，如队员中包含母语为英文之参赛者，则不符合参赛资格，无法参加比赛。
Since this is an EFL contest and the focus is to motivate students who live in countries where English is a foreign language, if participants come from a country where one of the official languages is English (or the participant has a passport from a country where English is an official language), that student cannot participate in the contest.
决赛比赛方式｜Final Round Regulations

决审参赛队伍于安排时间进行现场英文简报，每组简报时间以6-8分钟为限。时间超过或未达要求，将扣分。进行简报时，大会将于第五分半钟时响一次铃，第七分钟时响两次铃，第八分钟时响三次铃提醒。铃响三次表示时间已到，主持人将要求队伍停止报告并下台。
Each team will give a presentation at the scheduled time and each presentation should last 6 to 8 minutes. Points will be deducted if the presentation does not reach/end within the time limit. The bell will ring once when the presentation reaches the 5 and a half minute mark, twice at the 7th minute mark, and three times at the 8th minute. After the 8th minute mark, the host will end the presentation and ask presenters to leave the stage. -
本竞赛为团体竞赛，每队限2-7人参加(不接受个人参赛)，队员不须全部上台简报。
This is a team contest. Students must form a team of 2 to 7 members. Not all team members are required to present on stage. -
以PowerPoint投影片辅助进行简报。投影片必须由参赛者自行制作，并确认简报中引用的图片及文章来源，避免版权争议。建议参赛者自备提示小卡，不建议直接宣读PowerPoint档内容。
It is required to use the PowerPoint to facilitate the presentation. Slides must be created by participants, ideally their original work; please list the references for photos and information shown in slides to avoid copyright infringement. We encourage participants to glance at notes occasionally instead of reading content in slides.
