AU English Promotion Video Contest

Show the Beauty of the Campus!.

  1. Qualifications: Students at Asia University
  2. Contest theme: Show the uniqueness of Asia University
  3. Important dates:
  • Call for works: Apr. 17th (Wed.) – May 29th (Wed.), upload full short video to YouTube and make an online registration.
  • Result announcement: Jun. 10th (Mon.)
  • Award ceremony: Jun. 14th (Fri.)

 

  1. Regulations:
  1. The contest contains two groups: a. International group (DFLL students, international students, General English AU1&AU2 students are included) and b. Campus group (General English AU3, AU4, AU5 students). Students who got a TOEIC score over 600 should join International group.
  2. This is a group contest, each group consists of 2-6 people.
  3. Video content is needed to present in English, aside, narrator, conversation, subtitles is needed for more than 200 words.
  4. The content is related to the theme, blends into your ideas and cut the film into 2-3 minutes.
  5. Regardless of the content of short video, you can add some stories, jokes, experience or create by yourselves.
  6. There are no reading scripts or lecture notes on videos.
  7. Please take note of the due time of uploading, you won’t be accepted if exceed the due time.
  8. If the judges find either the video content or the photos/pictures/background music used in the video are plagiarized, the group will be disqualified.
  9. If the organizer finds any winning work is plagiarized, participants’ award will be canceled and prizes will be recovered.
  10. If the judges find any disturbing images (violence, nudity, or sexual content) the group will be disqualified.
  11. Since this is an EFL contest and the focus is to motivate students who live in countries where English is a foreign language, if participants come from a country where one of the official languages is English (or the participant has a passport from a country where English is an official language), that student cannot participate in the contest.
  12. If there is any dispute regarding the regulations, the competition judges will have a meeting for resolution, and the decisions and revised regulations will be announced by the organizer online.
  13. The name of the contestants and the production team must not appear in the video.
  14. The works must not have won the first prize in other contests.
  15. Music material must be legally authorized.
  16. Copyright authorization: If an entry has used  another person's work or copyrighted material, the entrant should obtain legal permission to use the work. Specifically, the copyright of the work or the rights holder must agree that the work or right to use the work is authorized to be provided by the organizer, including the use of the entry for re-production at home and abroad, dissemination, change, public transmission, public broadcast, public screening. In other words, participants shall guarantee that they have all copyright rights in their entries, and that there is no plagiarism. In the case of using other people's works or rights (including text, images and sounds, etc.), the entrants should obtain the concent of the copyright owner  or authorization of the rights holder and submit the relevant statement of its authorization at the time of receiving it.
  17. If there are copyright violations or other acts that infringe on the rights of others, the relevant legal liabilities and losses shall be borne and compensated by the entrants independently of the organizer.
  18. In the above methods, if there are any deficiencies, the organizer reserves the right to modify.

  1. Students just make a short video by themselves which explains in English, it’s around 2 to 3 minutes without formality.
  2. Name your video 2019 AU English Promotion Video Contest – (create your own video title)” and upload it to YouTube and make an online registration.
  3. After making over the video, turning in to M201 office.

  1. Content (40%) The theme of the video should related to promoting Asia University.
  2. English Presenting (40%) The language (voice over, dialogue, and subtitles are included) used in the video.
  3. Creativity (20%)

Each Group will have 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize and 2 Outstanding Awards.

  • 1st Prize: NT$4,000/choose one group
  • 2nd Prize: NT$2,500/choose one group
  • 3rd Prize: NT$1,000/choose one group
  • Outstanding Award: NT$500 & certificates
