2019 English Postcard Contest

- Regulations:
- The postcard must address to one of the following: a) a character from General English readers you study this semester, b) a character from movies or other famous stories, c) a celebrity or a famous person (in history).
- The students can address the features of the character in different ways such as funny, serious, inquisitive, or even a combination of feelings and thoughts about what the character said or did.
- The contest contains two groups: 1. International group (DFLL students, international students, General English AU1&AU2 level students and EGSP – Advanced level students are included) and 2. Campus group (General English AU3, AU4 and AU5 level students and EGSP – Intermediate level students). Students who got a TOEIC score over 600 should join International group.
- This is an individual contest, each student can submit only one work.
- The content should be in English. The length of message should fall between 100-120 words for international group and between 50-100 words for campus group.
- The postcard should be a complete work, and the message must integrate with the photo/illustration.
- Both the message and the photo/illustration must be original. (Photo could be modified.) The message and the photo/illustration are required to be presented together as a double-sided A5 size(14.8cm*21.0cm) postcard, one side with the photo/illustration, the other side with the message. Contestants should turn in the postcard as a PDF or a JPG file.
- For the required photo/illustration, you may use either a) photo, b) craft art, or c) illustration, which should be taken or created by yourself.
- At the right bottom corner, please include the following words: “2019 English Postcard Contest.”
- On-line Registration, please follow the following steps:
Step 1. Go to the registration link, https://goo.gl/forms/0uXoH0F1oy3TToP63(Campus Group) & https://goo.gl/forms/W4G76aJlHdLROvRI2(International Group) and fill in register information. (you need to log in with your google account)
Step.2 Submit your completed postcard to the link.
Step 3. Each participant needs to hand in a declaration with signature to M201 to complete the registration.

- Notification:
- Since this is an EFL contest and the focus is to motivate students who live in countries where English is a foreign language, participants who are from a country where one of the official languages is English (or the participant has a passport from a country where English is an official language), that student cannot participate in the contest.
- If there is any dispute regarding the regulations, the competition judges will have a meeting for resolution, and the decisions and revised regulations will be announced by the organizer online.
- If the judges find either the message or the photo/illustration is plagiarized, the work will be disqualified.
- If the organizer finds any winning work is plagiarized, participants’ award will be canceled and prizes will be recovered.
- If the judges find the content harms another’s reputation or contains any disturbing images (violence, nudity, or sexual content), the work will be disqualified.
- Contestant please be careful with the contest regulations. If the work does not follow the regulations, the work won’t be accepted to the final round.

Each Group will have 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize and 6 outstanding Awards.
First prize: NT$ 1,200 & certificate.
Second prize: NT$ 1,000 & certificate.
Third prize: NT$ 800 & certificate.
Outstanding award (6 people): NT$300 & certificate
