2020 Taiwan Tourist Attractions Promotion Video Contest
- Qualifications: Students at Asia University
- Contest theme: Promote famous tourist attractions in Taiwan
- Important dates:
Call for works: May 4th (Mon.) ~ Jun. 12th (Fri.), upload full short video to YouTube and make an online registration.
Result announcement: Jun. 22nd (Mon.)
Award ceremony: Jul. 1st (Wed.)
- Regulations:
- The contest contains two groups: 1. International group (DFLL students, international students, General English AU1&AU2 level students and EGSP – Advanced level students are included) and 2. Local group (General English AU3, AU4 and AU5 level students and EGSP – Intermediate level students). Students who got a TOEIC score over 600 should join International group.
- This is a group contest (2-7 members a group). Not all members are required to show up in the video, but a credit list should be provided at the end of the video.
- Video content should present in English. The total of English words used in narration, conversation, subtitles should fall between 150 to 200 words.
- The content must relate to the theme, please blend your creative ideas into it and cut the film into 2-3 minutes.
- You can add some stories, jokes, or personal experience into the video.
- The video cannot show actors staring at or reading scripts or lecture notes.
- Each student / each team can submit only one work.
- Please take note of the due time of uploading, you won’t be accepted if exceed the due time.
- Format:
- Please save your video as MP4 HD (720p) files and keep a backup file in hand. Blurring images may leave bad impressions to judges.
- Please test the sound effects before filming, high quality sound and voice recording allows the judges to understand your English presentation better.
- Participants must confirm that their works are original and unpublished. If works have participated in other contests or published, participants will be disqualified.
- On-line Registration, please follow the following steps:
Step 1. Contestants make a short video and the content should present in English. Please cut the film into 2-3 minutes.
Step.2 Name your video “2020 Taiwan Tourist Attractions Promotion Video Contest – (create your own video title)” and upload it to YouTube and make an online registration. The video should be set as “unpublicized.”

- Notification:
- Since this is an EFL contest and the focus is to motivate students who live in countries where English is a foreign language, if participants come from a country where one of the official languages is English (or the participant has a passport from a country where English is an official language), that student cannot participate in the contest.
- If there is any dispute regarding the regulations, the judges will have a meeting for resolution, and the decisions and revised regulations will be announced by the organizer online.
- If the judges find any video content, including the English message, music and the photos/illustrations, is plagiarized, the work will be disqualified.
- If the organizer finds any winning work is plagiarized, participants’ award will be canceled and prizes will be recovered.
- If the judges find the content harms another’s reputation or contains any disturbing images (violence, nudity, or sexual content), the work will be disqualified.
- Contestant please carefully follow the contest regulations. If the work does not meet the regulations, the work won’t be accepted to the final round.
- Participants must understand and agree that the CDLTR is the copyright owner of the videos till the end of the contest and the award ceremony. Participants have to gratuitously authorize the copyright to the CDLTR. Participants cannot authorize the copyright to the other parties for publication (online publication is included).

Each Group will have 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize and 2 outstanding Awards.
First prize: NT$ 4,000 & certificate.
Second prize: NT$ 2,500 & certificate.
Third prize: NT$ 1,000 & certificate.
Outstanding award (2 groups): NT$500 & certificate
